WCoP 2020 was renamed to WCoP 2022 and held between 29 March to 1 April 2022 as a hybrid meeting i.e. face-to-face plus virtual.
Delegates at WCoP2022 witnessed first-hand the potential for expanding clinical research and the science of pharmacometrics in Africa. We were especially proud to showcase the results of the capability and capacity strengthening efforts for clinical pharmacology and pharmacometrics that were funded by the Foundation under this grant.
All abstracts for WCoP2022 were published in 2 special issues of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics: Pharmacometrics and Systems Pharmacology (CPT:PSP). To complement the abstracts, full and open access to all the scientific content presented at WCoP 2022 are now available via the WCoP 2022 website (https://wcop2022.org/) where one will find:-
- All oral-presentations e.g. video recordings of the opening and closing sessions; the 4 keynote presentations; all talks from the 9 symposia and the biographies of the speakers
- All poster presentations including PDF’s, short video recordings and chaired discussion sessions
- A link to the presentations at the 2 special side-meetings on regulatory capacity development that was co-hosted with the South African Health Products Agency (SAHPRA)
- A comprehensive photo and video gallery
- Descriptions of the pre- and post-conference workshops that were hosted as either virtual or hybrid meetings
The website also contains (AI-enabled) sub-titles and translations into multiple languages. This is a new feature that contributes to the Pharmacometrics Africa (and WCoP) goal of expanding the reach of pharmacometrics by reducing the barrier to entry to non-English first language speakers.
